Celebrate Woodvent with WoodenToyShop

We love puns at WoodenToyShop. We love wood based puns even more. We pine for them, even though yew might groan at them. Even more than our legendary wood based puns, we love competitions. We run at least one competition per week and sometimes we run extra weekend competitions. So we simply could not let Christmas pass without a special competition, especially one which combined our two greatest obsessions. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, WoodenToyShop hereby announces Woodvent.

What is Woodvent?

Woodvent is the result of one evening’s strategising in the office. We were looking for a snappy name for an extra special and enjoyable competition that we were planning. We’d had an idea for a competition that mixed the 12 days of Christmas with an Advent calendar. So, perhaps inevitably and maybe because it was getting late and we don’t actually live in the office (even though it does feel like that sometimes) WoodenToyShop and Advent became Woodvent.

What will be behind our first door?

The competition

Each morning, during the first 12 days of December we will be ‘opening’ a window in our Woodvent calendar. Behind the door will be one of the very special wooden toys selected from one of our bestselling categories. Each morning we will reveal on this blog the part of our store in which the toy is displayed and invite anyone and everyone to guess the identity of the toy. All correct entries will be put into a hat the following morning and one lucky winner will be selected at random to win a £25 voucher. On two very special days during Woodvent, the prize will be the toy that is behind the door.

There's no need to be scared if this fella is behind the door.

It’s not as complicated as it sounds…

Honestly, it isn’t:

• - One competition per day between 1^st and 12^th December.

• - Competition launched at 10:00am each morning.

• - At 10:00am we will announce the category from which that day’s toy has been chosen.

• - Guesses must be submitted as comments underneath each day’s announcement on this blog.

• - Competition runs until 9:00am the following morning. One daily winner will be picked at random to win a £25 voucher to spend at WoodenToyShop.co.uk

• - On two days selected at random, the winner will receive the toy that was behind the door.

• - The final day of our Woodvent competition will be Wednesday 12^th December.

Surely this classic toy kitchen won't be behind one of our doors...will it?

A few rules

• - One entry per household.

• - Entrants must be based in the United Kingdom.

• - Judges decision is final.

• - No cash alternative will be available for any the prizes.
