I'm Toy Baby Walker

WoodenToyShop.co.uk offers a superb range of baby walkers for sale on our brand new site.

The concept of baby walkers can be quite contentious. We’re parents and have seen first-hand the benefits and fun that can be had by kids using them from when they first start to become active around the house. Other people disagree and believe them to be detrimental, even dangerous to a child’s development.

We are not here to sway your opinion one way or another, merely to say we and our children loved them when they were just becoming mobile. In fact, my two three and a half year old twins still use their old baby walkers, albeit rather differently than they did a few years ago.

Most importantly however, they are still used for almost the exact same purpose as when we bought them and that is to have fun, make some noise and in our case, terrorise the family menagerie.

If you want to read more in-depth articles about the opinions people have on them, do a quick search on Google for baby walkers good or bad and you can make up your own mind.

Personally, I think the term baby walker is a little bit misleading anyway. It implies that they are there to aid or augment a child’s walking ability. To me, it’s simply another toy that my kids used just about the time when they were starting to walk and they just loved ferrying things from room to room with a great big grin on their faces. They did actually lean on them in their more unsteady moments but they had started to walk on their own way before they used a walker.

Anyway, once you’ve made up your mind and if you have decided to get one for your little one, we’ve got some right little crackers from the toy legends such as John Crane, Pintoy, Plan Toys and BigJigs. There really is something for everyone.

Most baby walkers these days come with some additional extras such as wooden blocks which can be stacked neatly into the bed of the walker. A good example of this is the Plan Toys Baby Walker which, as well as a lovely smiley face on the front, also includes some fantastic wooden building blocks for your little one to load and unload, or simply throw around the room!

One of our best sellers is the Pintoy Baby Walker with Alphabet Blocks which is a stylish little number and also very durable. It also has the added benefit of an extra learning dimension with the wooden alphabet blocks so little ones can start to recognise the shapes of letters at a very early age.

Other baby walkers are more like mobile playrooms – take the BigJigs Activity Walker as an example. As well as a walker, it also acts as a shape sorter, a bead frame and an animal spinner. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also a mirror to check that those new locks of hair haven’t become too tousled with all the wind rushing through them as they race from room to room (to room).
