  • The WoodenToyShop Guide to Wooden Toy Boxes and Chests

I don’t know about you, but standing on a piece of Lego, a plastic knight or a toy car when all you are wearing on your feet is a pair of socks can be a real pain (quite literally). As much as they love taking their toys out of cupboards and boxes, children are for some reason less inclined to clear them away before bedtime. Keeping a tidy bedroom or playroom is a serious challenge for most parents and children, and often the best way to do so is with something large enough to hold lots of toys, with a lid to hide them under! The following WoodenToyShop Guide to Wooden Toy Boxes and Chests has been written to showcase our very popular and attractive range of toy storage solutions. Continue reading

  • Toy Storage

Wooden toy boxes and chests should form part of every parents’ armoury against untidy children! All parents of young children will be familiar with the sight of a room that looks like a herd of elephants has trampled through it. There are times when our little angels want to play with every toy in their collection and no sooner do they start playing with their favourite doll or tractor than they discard them for another toy they have spotted and had previously forgotten. Playrooms and bedrooms are a breeding ground for messiness and clutter and perhaps the best thing parents can do is encourage kids to tidy up with attractive toy boxes and toy chests that make tidying fun!

At WoodenToyShop we recognise the importance of good storage solutions – you should see our warehouse! – so we thought it was about time we highlighted a few of the toy chests and boxes we have in store:

    Natural toy boxes and chests

Parents who prefer natural wooden storage are spoiled for choice between the John Crane Natural Toy Chest, the Pintoy Natural Toy Chest and the Pintoy Four Friends Toy Chest. These roomy toy chests are easy to assemble and each feature lids which have been designed to stop young hands getting trapped. Pintoy also produce a handy natural storage bin which is on casters and an open toy to avoid cramming!

    Neutral Storage Solutions

If the natural look isn’t your scene then you may prefer the John Crane White Toy Chest, the Guidecraft Classic Wooden Toy Box or the very cute Pintoy White Toy Chest. The John Crane Nesting Toy Storage Boxes offers a flexible solution with three boxes which can be stored under tables, desks or beds and packed away together if not needed.

    Decorated Toy Chests and Boxes

We have a gorgeous selection of beautifully decorated toy chests from Guidecraft, all of which will add colour and fun to any playroom or bedroom. Our current favourite is the Guidecraft Butterfly Toy Box, which is illustrated with cute butterflies and daisies and has three special spaces on its back frame for personal photographs or drawings. This cracking toy box also has internal dividers and strong casters for ease of movement.

Other favourites from Guidecraft include the Farmhouse Toy Box, Jungle Wooden Toy Box and the ever popular Noah’s Ark Toy Box. All of these boxes are easy to assemble, sturdy and guaranteed to light up any room.

    Toy Tidies and Boxes

In smaller rooms, toy tidies such as the John Crane Toy Tidy will appeal to young boys. Little girls might prefer John Crane’s pretty Trinket Box which has three draws for storing treasured possessions.

Whatever solution you choose, we’re sure that any of these wonderful wooden toy boxes and chests will help restore order to a chaotic nursery. We have noticed an encouraging trend in some little ones: for every child who enjoys pulling every single toy out of a cupboard or chest, there is another who loves diligently collecting up all discarded toys and returning them to their storage space. Who are we to discourage them?

  • More than One Child – Different Wooden Toy Boxes

For families with more than one child it is a difficult task to keep their different toys separated and even more so – difficult to keep age appropriate toys separate, when children are of different ages and have their own specific favourite toys.  Here at the Wooden Toy Shop we have taken the storage of children’s toys very seriously and have a great range of wooden toy boxes that provide each child with their own sense of identity and of course keep the house tidy.  The wooden toy boxes are all designed to appeal to children of different ages.
