It happens once every year and it is something the children get wildly excited about. Even grownups are allowed birthdays and today at WoodenToyShop headquarters I am celebrating my __th birthday. I have to admit to being a little bit over excited, even though I have had many, many birthdays in the past. Jon has told me I need to knuckle down and get on with some work, so I wonder if I could get away with a little bit of day dreaming while reviewing some of our wonderful wooden toys and thinking about birthdays and birthday presents?
The perfect place to cook a big birthday breakfast.My perfect birthday would start with a special breakfast, cooked in a fabulous kitchen, such as the Melissa and Doug Cook’s Corner Kitchen. On such an auspicious day, I would cast aside all healthy options and allow myself a fried breakfast such as the Plan Toys Breakfast Menu, although it would have to be veggie sausage and bacon for me! On the other hand, if I were lucky enough to have breakfast in bed, I would opt for a beautiful breakfast on a tray, such as the Janod Breakfast Set. Gosh, what a difficult choice!
Everyone loves a cooked breakfast!Having opened all of my cards and presents and having phoned my friends and family to thank them for all of their generous gifts, I might take a stroll to the local bakery where I would buy some scrumptious cakes and buns or something very special from the items on display in the Janod Portable Bakery. Who can resist cake on their birthday? Not me!
Look at all those lovely pastries!Elevenses anyone? Surely I’m allowed tea and cake on my birthday? Well then, let’s get out the cake stand and our best china like in the Le Toy Van Honeybake Tea Set and we can do it properly.
Shall I be Mum?After such a big breakfast and then a very indulgent mid-morning snack, I would probably miss out on lunch and spend the time playing with my presents. What would a big boy like me want for his dream birthday? Well, number one on my list would be a top of the range motorbike, like the Kiddimoto Red Superbike. I’ve always wanted to drive a train like the Bigjigs Rail Mallard, so you never know, one day someone might buy me one of those adventure days where you get to ride on the footplate and stoke the fire. Fingers crossed!
I want a big red motorbike for my birthday!When it comes to birthdays, my favourite time of day is birthday dinner time, when the birthday boy or girl is allowed to choose whatever he or she wants for the celebratory meal. Well, we live in the country where pizza delivery is but a pipe-dream, so on my birthday I like to have a pizza party, followed of course by a birthday cake. When it comes to birthday cakes, we are spoiled for choice here at WoodenToyShop. After careful consideration, my favourite has to be the Melissa and Doug Tiered Cake which can be used on a number of special occasions.
A cake for all occasions.Jon has just shouted across the office that I need to get on with some proper work. He’s also asked for a piece of cake, so I might spare him a slice if he agrees to do next week’s VAT return. Hmm, I think he’d rather go hungry.
