It is official. Christmas is on its way. Today is what some observers have prosaically called Cyber Monday. Only a few days ago it was Black Friday, so named because it is the day when retailers in the USA move into profit as American shoppers hit the high street and visit online stores to make their Christmas purchases. Internet shoppers in Great Britain appear to lag a little behind, with businesses divided on which day will be the busiest online. Some retailers have predicted that Monday 28th November will be the busiest shopping day online, whereas others forecast a surge in orders during the next two weeks as savvy shoppers look to avoid the high street and avoid last minute delivery problems (snow permitting!) by buying their Christmas presents as soon as November’s pay hits their bank accounts.
