During the last two weeks we have been reviewing our stock and decided which new lines to introduce. Right now we’re in the middle of uploading some beautiful new Le Toy Van toys to our website in anticipation of the arriving in our warehouse and being available for sale in the next week to ten days. 
There is never a dull day at WoodenToyShop HQ. On Monday we both spent a good hour or so talking to customers who had called in with questions about some of our toys. We love talking to customers (we call them WoodenToyShoppers!) and without being presumptuous, our customers appear to enjoy talking to us. Sometimes they have very specific questions about the dimensions of toys (the seat and handle heights of wooden balance bikes is a very popular question) and whenever queries like this come to our attention we ensure that we provide as much accurate information as we can and then upload it to our product descriptions so that future customers have all relevant data to hand when browsing on the site. An example of this is the John Crane Tidlo Red Scooter Balance Bike, which now features seat and handle height information.

On other occasions, customers ask us to recommend wooden toys to complement toys that are already owned by their children. An easy example would be wooden dolls’ houses: we are frequently contacted by grandparents, aunties and uncles who want to buy something for their grandchildren, neices and nephews who are lucky enough to be receiving a dolls’ house for Christmas or for their birthday. In these cases we point our customers to our dolls’ house furniture sets. In the case of Le Toy Van Dolls’ Houses, we can do no better than recommend the Daisy Lane Furniture sets. Of course, sometimes it can be a little trickier. If each room in your dolls’ house is already full then what next? Well, fear not, as we can then move on to our range of dolls’ house accessories which allow you to extend your dolls’ house fun with pet sets (yes, dogs, cats and kennels!), vegetable gardens, playgrounds with swings, climbing frames and slides. We can even recommend two toy cars, a caravan and a camper van to park outside your dolls’ house!
Occasionally our wonderful customers are concerned about delivery times, especially when ordering last minute birthday and Christmas presents. We’re always happy to reassure our customers that as a rule of thumb our standard delivery service will get their toys to them within two to five working days, although very often we deliver within 48 hours. Our next day delivery service is extremely reliable and in general we are extremely pleased with our couriers. In autumn last year we moved all our deliveries to Royal Mail and Parcelforce and of the thousands of orders we sent out during the Christmas period, we had delivery problems with a very tiny proportion. Many of our customers live in rural areas and hundreds of orders were successfully shipped to the least accessible areas of Scotland, Wales and England to the delight of our expectant customers.
When we come into the office each morning, we have a loose idea of what the day will bring, but the reason we love what we do is that every day we speak to strangers who are buying toys to bring smiles to the faces of children throughout the UK. Yes, we know it’s a business, but it still makes us smile to think of the toy castles, pirate ships and many other wooden toys that are being unwrapped by excited children as we log on to our email!
