Our Favourite Toys from Le Toy Van

Now for regular readers of our blog, you’ll know all too well that we are big fans of Le Toy Van toys. They really are something special and our recent trip to the Toy Fair at Olympia in London confirmed our opinion that they really are one of the premier wooden toy brands in the world.
So, when we got back to the office after a tiring trip to our old stomping ground, we had a good old chat about all the new toys we’d seen unveiled at the Toy Fair and in particular those from Le Toy Van. There are some new additions to the range from Le Toy Van this year, some of which we are quite excited about. These include a wonderful tool belt with a very pleasing little oil dispenser which fascinated us; a fantastic fruit and veg market stall which we’re sure will be a big hit and a Queen’s Guardsman complete with bearskin hat and shelter, just like you see outside Buckingham Palace. Perfect timing for the Olympics!
Anyway, all this chatter about Le Toy Van led the conversation to which of their range was our favourite. Jon’s favourite is the Sophie’s House which his 4 year old daughter received from Santa. Not only was it very easy to assemble on Christmas Eve but also it has proved to be a big hit and takes pride of place in the playroom.

Jon must also point out that the Le Toy Van Emerald Castle was also a big hit in the house over Christmas as his daughter’s twin brother was fortunate to receive this wonderful toy castle on the big day. Rob’s favourite is without doubt the Daisy Lane dolls house furniture which is abundant in detail and we are amazed that we are able to sell them for under £20 a room. The detail and workmanship is absolutely incredible and they complement the Le Toy Van dolls’ house perfectly.

Now we have a fair sized following on our Facebook page so we thought we’d throw it out to our 1600+ fans and see what their favourite toy from Le Toy Van was. Well, we received a tremendous response and there was a wide range of favourites.
Unsurprisingly, a popular choice of their favourite toy was the Le Toy Van Dolls House. In particular, the Mayberry Manor and Appleby House seemed to be top of the list with many of our Facebook fans saying how the dolls’ houses reminded them of their childhood and they would dearly love their children to have them in their toy collection. There was also a fair bit of support for the gorgeous Daisy Lane furniture which didn’t surprise us as it really is rather special.
Castles and pirate ships were also mentioned a fair bit. The Lionheart Castle and the Barbarossa Pirate Ship were the stand out toys of our Facebook followers and the farm toys also proved to be popular with Pippin Farm just nudging the vote over its smaller cousin Le Barnyard.
Perhaps the most mentioned toys were those from the Le Toy Van Honeybake range which are all kitchen themed toys which are great for role play. The Honeybake Oven and Hob was hugely popular as was the Honeybake Baking Set which includes a rather dinky little food mixer:
