How Long Does it Take for Plastic Toys to Degrade?

There is a very simple and resounding answer - plastic never degrades. Plastic is a man-made product and although it can break down into small pieces and eventually over years into molecules it is not a part of nature and will remain in our soils and oceans for ever. It is a critical environmental debate and one quite obviously close to our heart. The very reason we are in the wooden toy business is the very underpinnings of this issue - we love wooden toys, but there is a need also to encourage selecting wooden toys over plastic toys for the sake of the environment. Now there will be calls that manufacturing wooden toys means cutting down trees - but there is very good legislation regarding sustainable forestry for the manufacture of wooden toys and importantly - wood is a natural material and will degrade back into our soils providing nutrients rather than leaving molecules.
