After eight years of faithful service, this week we decided to put our car out to grass and buy something more sensible and less likely to leave us stranded in a deserted country lane high on Exmoor. After much humming and harring, we have decided on the replacement and will be travelling to our Easter holiday destination surrounded by that unmistakeable ‘new car’ smell and safe in the knowledge (fingers crossed) that our journey will be worry-free and, dare I say it, a pleasure. Choosing a new car can indeed be a long and painful business.
