My little girl (and I) have been having lots of fun playing with this beautifully made cosmetics set by BigJigs. I don't think my daughter could have been more excited when she opened her surprise package and saw what it was. She kept repeating "this is my set, my own set, this is my set"... so I think she was pleased to have her own set to play with, it was very sweet!
After being told many a time not to touch mummy's make up or perfume she was really excited to have some all to herself. The set is really beautifully made and I think it will really stand the test of time, right down to the dainty little eyeshadow brushes. It contains a mini set of lipsticks, some eyeshadow, a blusher, a flip out mirror, a flower mirror, a comb, a hairdryer, some moisturiser and her very own bottle of perfume (all pretend and mess free of course)!
I love the way the trays flip out really easily and you can store everything away neatly after they have finished playing. When folded it fastens simply and has a carry handle – Imogen decided she was going to take it out and about with her, but typically soon decided she wanted mummy to carry it for her!
She has been having lots of fun choosing her colour of lipstick and pretending to smear it all over cheeks, which has been giving mummy a good giggle too. She has also spent lots of time doing mine and her dolls make up as well as drying Daddy's hair – complete with sound effects!
If you know a little girl who loves role playing I would say this would be a fantastic gift and brilliant addition to their toy collection. Anything my little girl watches me doing she loves to play at herself and this was no exception. She has also decided that the blusher case makes a great bed for her toy animals, so that's imagination for you!
