Mallard was a famous steam locomotive which still holds the world record for the fastest steam traction at a very impressive 126 miles per hour! Built in 1938 and in service until 1963, Mallard covered nearly 1.5 million miles and is much loved by railway enthusiasts of all ages. Having been restored to working order in the 1980s, Mallard can now be found at the National Railway Museum in York. However, junior enthusiasts can satisfy their Mallard curiosity with this wonderful wooden replica.
