  • Fire! Fire!

Oh my goodness, there's a pretend fire blazing in the toy kitchen and the cat's stuck at the top of the sofa! There's only one thing for it, we need to call the fire service and get the fire engine and fire fighters out to rescue the situation. Pretend play toys such as the Pintoy Fire Engine are perennial children's favourites and light up little ones' imaginations like no other toy in the play room. Combine them with the Pintoy Fire Station and the Pintoy Fire Fighters and you really do have an emergency service you can rely on to save the burnt cakes, the stricken cat or the toy castle whose ramparts have been set on ablaze by rampaging knights.

The range of toys offered by Brio quickly rose from just 170 in 1907 to over 14,000 by 1914 and these were available to order from mail order catalogues or from the company's band of travelling salesmen.

Since then the company has grown enormously and is almost a byword for quality in the toy industry. It's estimated that their share in the global wooden toy industry is over 40% and looking at some of their products, it's easy to see why.
