Ship Ahoy! Piratical Pandemonium on the Le Toy Van Barbarossa Pirate Ship

Le Toy Van Barbarossa Pirate Ship

Far, far away on the horizon I can just about make out the black headsail of some kind of ship. What’s that familiar looking design on the jib? It looks like a, oh no, yes it is, it’s a skull and crossbones! And what’s the flag flying high above the mainsail and above the crow’s nest? Crikey! It’s a Jolly Roger. Weigh anchor lads, look sharp. It looks as though the Le Toy Van Barbarossa Pirate Ship is about to take a shot across our bows.

Fear not shipmates. The Barbarossa is all about fun and games. This wonderful toy pirate ship is an award winner and one of our customers’ favourite toys and we completely understand why. Rather than weighing the anchor, unfurling the mainsail and heading out of port as fast as the wind will carry us, let’s take a detailed look at the Barbarossa and see if we can work out why the boisterous junior buccaneers love this ship so much:

Sails – the Barbarossa has three sails. Each of these can be furled and unfurled as the wind requires. Each sale is black and is bedecked with skull and crossbones. The sails will leave you in no doubt about the nature of this boat!

Flags – at the rear deck and high above the crow’s nest, two flag poles proudly display the Jolly Roger. You’d better pray for mercy when you see these flags heading your way!

Main mast and crow’s nest – when you get tired of him, you can send the naughtiest of your band of brigands up the mast for lookout duty in the crow’s nest.

Rope ladder – how else would the pirate climb up the mast? The rope ladder swings from the main mast giving access to and from the crow’s nest.

Cannons – before they attempt to board your ship, pirates like to soften you up with a blast or three from their cannons. The Barbarossa has two cannons, one of which will fire cannon balls from the main deck while the other peeps out from below decks when you’re not looking!

Below decks – there is plenty of room in the hold for storing stolen booty and a prisoner or two. The clever designers at Le Toy Van made the stern removable to ensure maximum fun below decks.

Of course, it’s the Barbarossa that takes the honours of our favourite pirate ship. We reckon old Long John Silver would love it, but in the absence of a written quote from the old Peg Leg himself, let’s end with a quote from one of our happy customers: “For a pirate mad child, this is the ultimate pirate ship toy.”
