The last blackberries are clinging on to their bushes, the chestnuts are falling and there are apples, damsons, sloes and elderberries galore in our hedgerows. The end of summer doesn’t seem too bad when there are so many tasty treats to be foraged along our country lanes. This week’s Wooden Wednesday competition combines two of our current passions: the Great British Bake Off and nature’s beauteous autumnal bounty. WoodenToyShoppers who watched the Bake Off last night may have inadvertently spotted some clues to the answers to today’s competition.
Early this morning Rob nipped out for a run along the lanes and back roads near his home. During the run he stopped to pick up two different kinds of nuts (or seeds) and to win today’s £50 voucher prize, all you need to do is tell us which kind of nuts Rob brought home. We don’t usually give clues, but let’s just say that both of these might have featured in recipes in last night’s Bake Off.
How to enter
1. Please click the Facebook ‘like’ button at the top of this page. (Don't worry if you don't have a Facebook account. You can skip this part.)
2. Place your entry as a comment under this blog article.
3. For the avoidance of doubt, we understand that some seeds are commonly referred to as nuts, so the correct answer may contain seeds and nuts!
In the event of a tie, a winner will be picked at random from all correct entries.
We will accept only one entry per UK household.
The result will be announced on this blog shortly after entries close and the judges’ decision will be final.
Prize vouchers are valid for one year and can only be used on items that are in stock. Vouchers cannot be used with any other current voucher offers.
Please note: each entry has to be approved before it is uploaded to this page. There may be a delay before you can see your entry.
This competition is open until 11:00am on Thursday 3rd October 2013. The winner will be announced shortly after this time.
THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.
We received multiple correct entries this week and Shirley Anne Adams' name was selected at random. Congratulations to Shirley who wins this week's £50 voucher.
