The last blackberries are clinging on to their bushes, the chestnuts are falling and there are apples, damsons, sloes and elderberries galore in our hedgerows. The end of summer doesn’t seem too bad when there are so many tasty treats to be foraged along our country lanes. This week’s Wooden Wednesday competition combines two of our current passions: the Great British Bake Off and nature’s beauteous autumnal bounty.
