Janod Toy Garage

When I saw The Wooden Toy shop asking for reviewers I knew that I had to put my girls forward. They don’t have nearly enough wooden toys and with me becoming a child minder I was on the look out for a great place to buy some from. We selected to receive a Janod wooden car garage because we have only ever been disappointed with the plastic ones we have bought in the past. In fact I reckon that the last plastic car garage we bought had the shortest life of a toy ever in this house. From badly constructed to poor materials the garage didn’t even last a week and the shop we bought it from admitted that it is well known to not be very good quality.

I was hoping that by getting a wooden one we would finally get rid of the issues of poor materials and actually allow the girls to experience playing with a car garage without it falling apart all the time. We chose the Janod Wooden car garage because it looked nice and simplistic. It has a very basic design which I believe allows the girls to use their imagination more.

The Janod Wooden Car Garage did caused some issues in our family, mainly because I had to ask for help to build it and I really didn’t like having to do that. When spending £50 on a toy I would either expect it to come prebuilt or be easy to assemble however after 2 hours of trying to screw it all together and after getting blisters on my hands I had to give in and get the Hubby to help. In the end he had to use the drill. The wood is such good quality that it was hard to screw together and you really needed the extra muscles or in this case a drill to ensure that all the screws were in as tight as possible.

Packaging

This is not the sort of toy that will break easily and I can see this lasting for years. I did come across another slight niggle and that is that there are no instructions for the stickers or even the ability to see where they all go, this meant that I really struggled to get them in the right places.

Once actually assembled it is a brilliant garage with 4 great quality cars and even a helicopter, the girls absolutely loved it and I liked the fact that the lift is really easy to use even for the younger children. The garage although plain has very bright and colourful edges and is suitable for both boys and girls.

Playing

It's

Having two children means that they tend to fight over everything, because of the size of this garage and also the amount of vehicles included they are able to play really nicely without fighting over who gets what. As a mum I love the fact that I can see my girls playing nicely together and with the quality of this I know I will see my minded children playing with this for many years to come.
